Make A Start Today

"When I woke up this morning I felt on top of the world" - said no one, ever!

Regardless of how old you are or your level of fitness, when you first wake up in the morning chances are you are not going to feel great. You're going to be tired, achy, and generally a little ropey. For some people thats enough to end all prospects of any physical activity for the day. However, it needn't be!

For me living in the UK and training in the morning, particularly on cold, dark, miserable winter mornings is tough. When the alarm goes of in the morning do I want to get out of bed? NO! But what I quickly came to realise is that regardless of whether I get out of bed at 5:30am to go to the gym or whether I get out of bed at 7am to go straight to work I still feel the same way. Dreadful.

Also, if you constantly tell yourself 'I'm tired' guess what... Your gonna be tired as your brain is the strongest and most controlling organ in your body. Yes, you may feel tired but just get up, get on with it and watch that tiredness disappear as those endorphins are released post workout.

Something that I hear people say all the time is 'I haven't got time to work out' or 'it's not the right time to start working out 5 time a week'. Well, guess what IT'S NEVER THE RIGHT TIME. Nobody's ever going to come, tap you on the shoulder and say to you 'now's the right time', you have to make a start and tackle the hurdles as they come.

The demotivating factor for most people is that once they do make a start its often too late. Too late to get that beach body you want. Too late to make alternative child care arrangements. Too late to say no to your boss asking you to work late.

Lifestyle and physique changes take time and you will without doubt come across obstacles along the way such as injuries, unsupportive partners, changes of circumstance such as children or relocation. However, its important that you don't let these obstacles derail you on your path to making a positive lifestyle change.

Make a start, do it today!
